Group Fitness Instructor(s)

Description: The YMCA of Greater Miami - Allapattah branch is hiring enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructor(s) for its who will teach classes that are aimed at improving the overall fitness levels of our members.


The Allapattah branch was closed at the end of 2007 and a brand new Preschool and facility have been built in its place.

Requirements: Compensation is based upon Instructor's years of experience, certifications and level.


Minimum of 1-2 years related fitness experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
Bi-lingual, English and Spanish (fluent in both languages).
Knowledge of the principles related to the improvement of overall fitness levels.
Current CPR certification.
Current National Certification from one of the following organizations.ASFA, AFAA, ACSM, ACE or AFPA or a Y-USA certification as listed below.
Required Prerequisite trainings:  The following trainings must be completed within the first year of employment. Certifications must be kept current thereafter:
YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles.
Foundations of YMCA Group Exercise.

Additional Trainings: One or more of the following trainings must be completed thereafter.
YMCA Cardio and Step Aerobics Instructor.
YMCA Pilates Instructor.
YMCA Group Cycling Instructor
YMCA Martial Arts Instructor
YMCA Walk Reebok Premier Instructor
Active Older Adult Exercise Instructor (land).
Annual attendance to YMCA Trainings such as (YMCA orientation, fitness seminars, branch functions, and /or workshops).
